Chile opened its first investigation into the death of President Allende
"I the will see if there was suicide or not and under what circumstances "Said a judicial source, who requested anonymity.
Salvador Allende, elected president of Chile in 1970 to lead a leftist coalition, died by gunshot in the presidential palace, bombed by the 'Air Force during the coup led by General Pinochet. He was 65.
An autopsy concluded that Allende had committed suicide, but the results are disputed by some political sectors and organizations defense of human rights.
" Justice will investigate what has not been investigated ", simply said the prosecutor of the Court of Appeal, Beatriz Pedrals.
It was she who on Wednesday opened proceedings in this case and in 725 other cases of violations of human rights during the dictatorship (1973-1990), never previously treated for lack of complaints.
" Last year, the lists of victims of the Rettig Report (National Commission for Truth and Reconciliation) have been reviewed and this information was intersected with the complaints so far. We then saw that many cases had not been procedures, "said the judiciary.
The judge assigned to coordinate these issues has asked the Attorney Pedrals to complain instead of victims of dictatorship, which ended in 3150 killed or missing and 28,000 cases of torture.
Currently, 560 former military personnel are prosecuted for crimes committed under military rule.
files opened Wednesday correspond to cases of missing and dead prisoners " whatever reason ," said the judge. It may for example include people killed by a bullet " lost" during a protest.
" We must investigate all crimes. We speak more than 700 cases that have never been investigated, including that of Allende, which gives more weight "to the proceedings, responded Lorena Pizarro, president of the Association of Relatives of Disappeared Detainees.
The arrival in power of Allende had worried the conservative sectors of Chile and the United States, who feared that his " Chilean road to socialism " do not rock the country South America into the communist camp.
Washington had decided to act secretly with the CIA, sponsoring and supporting the coup cons Allende, who had nationalized the major mining resources of the country, such as copper, at the time controlled by U.S. multinationals.
The United States has long supported the then military regime and its economic policy, modeled on the precepts and ultra-liberal monetarists of the Chicago School.
Pinochet died in 2006, 16 years after he left office without having been tried.
Allende's widow, Hortensia Bussi, had fled to Mexico after the coup but had continued to fight dictatorship. She herself died in 2009 at the age of 94 years.
The couple had three daughters, Carmen Paz, Beatriz, who died, and Isabel, Socialist MEP.

Eduardo "Guayo" Labarca, went pee on the grave of Borges
|
| book cover El enigma de los Módulos (The Enigma of Modul |
C is well Eduardo Labarca, Chilean writer went to urinate on the grave of Jorge Luis Borges, perhaps the greatest Argentine writer of the twentieth century. All ... tribute to him. Singular, one suspects. Especially that Eduardo is not a young dog crazy. This 72 year old novelist is best known in the country.
Borges soggy
And it was not enough, his act considered sacrilege by the Minister of Culture of Argentina, Jorge Coscia, it will provide small fame. " It is tasteless and offensive. You will not win urinating on a grave , "growls the Minister.
Making the cover of his latest book, prick in hand and spray urine turned toward the grave, the writer says that we better understand his gesture by reading his book. " Pee on this tomb was a legitimate artistic act. The cover of the book is consistent with the content, and can be better understood so , "says he to Guardian.
Hateful citizen
journalist, translator and writer, Eduardo worked for the United Nations and sharing his time between Chile and Vienna. " I'm not just someone who goes around to piss on graves, but a writer with an important work ," he adds.
According to him, to understand his action, we must focus not on the work of Borges, but on the man. " Everyone is offended, since it sees no further than the tip of his nose. Borges was, as a writer, a giant, but I feel utter contempt for him as a citizen. While he was old, almost blind, he came to meet the dictator Pinochet when he was particularly engaged in murder. "Following this meeting, Borges had lavished praise on Pinochet ...
Blame Jean-Sol Pattra
However, Eduardo is not an exhibitionist. He admits he was holding a plastic bottle in hand, and pretended to urinate. And most importantly, it was Jean-Paul Sartre that inspired the act. "Every writer should have originality and breaking with the great artists who preceded him. "
And to ensure he had pissed himself on the grave Chateaubriand. "My act has two meanings: a tribute to the master and the repudiation of citizen," says Eduardo. (See Perfil.com )

Finally I started another knitting project today. It will allow me to change technique without getting bored! I started the Peruvian snood, but as I began jacquard, I did a little test before starting the project:
Cute is not it? But mostly I'm used to "forward the son" so that it is clean at the rear of the project. I followed the video Knit Spirit !
That is what gives my snood Now:
I have not come back this far, I almost made my half! However there will still finishing, and I want to sew a fleece inside: then it's not finished.
